In the Republic of Luminska, all citizens must possess a valid passport for international travel. Below are the key rules regarding passport issuance and renewal.
Passport Types
Luminska offers the following types of passports:
- Standard Passport: Issued to regular citizens for travel purposes.
- Diplomatic Passport: Issued to government officials and diplomats.
- Official Passport: Issued to individuals representing the government for official purposes.
- Emergency Travel Document: Issued in urgent situations where a full passport cannot be processed in time.
Passport Format
The standard Luminska passport follows the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) format, containing the following elements:
- Cover: The passport cover is dark blue with the Luminska emblem and the text "Republic of Luminska" in gold.
- Biometric Data Page: Includes the passport holder's photograph, name, date of birth, passport number, and biometric data for security purposes.
- Visa Pages: Contains pages for visa stamps and other official travel documentation.
Passport Application Process
To apply for a passport in Luminska, the following steps must be completed:
- Complete the Application Form: The application form must be filled out online here or at the local passport office.
- Provide Proof of Identity: Applicants must provide government-issued identification (e.g., national ID card, birth certificate).
- Provide Proof of Citizenship: Applicants must provide proof of Luminska citizenship, such as a birth certificate or naturalization certificate.
- Submit Passport Photos: Two passport-sized photographs must be submitted, meeting the ICAO photo guidelines.

Passport Renewal
Passports in Luminska are valid for a period of 10 years. Renewal is required once the passport expires. The following steps are required to renew a passport:
- Complete the Renewal Form: Renewal forms are available online or at the local passport office.
- Provide Expired Passport: The expired passport must be submitted for renewal, along with any supporting documents if needed.
- Payment: The renewal fee is 100 LMD, with an additional 25 LMD fee for expedited processing.
- Submit Updated Documents: If there have been any changes to your personal information, you must provide the necessary documentation (e.g., marriage certificate, legal name change).
Emergency Passports
If you need to travel urgently and do not have time to process a standard passport, you may apply for an Emergency Travel Document. The following conditions apply:
- Emergency Situations: An emergency passport can be issued in cases of medical emergencies, family crises, or other urgent situations.
- Required Documentation: Proof of emergency (e.g., medical documentation, travel bookings) must be provided along with the application.
- Processing Time: Emergency passports are processed within 24 to 48 hours.
